At
CTech quality of transcription is of utmost concern. CTech only
hires medical transcriptionists with at least two years of current
medical transcription experience. All candidates are given a verbal
knowledge and transcription test prior to hire. Each medical transcriptionist
is given 80 to 160 hours of training to learn their account and
our operating system. All medical transcription employees participate
in our Quality Assurance program.
CTech strives for 100% quality. Our minimum quality standard for
medical transcriptionists is 98%. For higher difficulty levels
or for information not understood by us, we provide deficiency
notes for the account and seek feedback so we can consistently
deliver the quality standard we have established.
Quality audits are performed on a weekly basis. The AAMT Book
of Style serves as the reference guide of choice when performing
quality assurance reviews. The Account Supervisor or Transcription
Supervisor will maintain a quality assurance schedule and a quality
assurance worksheet for each medical transcriptionist. A total
of 2% or more of a given week’s transcribed jobs for each facility
will be picked up for audit purposes for the established medical
transcriptionist. The work of a new hire medical transcriptionist
and the work of an established medical transcriptionist while
training on a new type of work will be reviewed daily by the Transcription
Supervisor. The reports selected for review will be a representative
sample of all work types transcribed by the transcriptionist.
The reports selected will be printed with the patient demographics
excluded and verified with the voice file. Each sampling is reviewed
with the medical transcriptionist and will be placed in his/her
permanent employment file.
In cases of specific complaints from a facility, physician or
group of physicians the percentage of audits may be increased
substantially to include all work until appropriate quality assurance
is reached. |
